poMMo is an open-source tool for managing and sending bulk emails, providing a user-friendly interface for effective communication with your subscribers or customers. In this article, we'll guide you through the steps to launch your first mailing using poMMo.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  1. Installed and configured poMMo on your web hosting.
  2. Access to the poMMo administrative interface.
  3. A list of email addresses you want to send your emails to.

Step 1: Logging into the Administrative Interface

Open your web browser and log in to the poMMo administrative interface using the URL provided during installation. Typically, it will be something like http://yourdomain.com/pommo/admin.

Step 2: Importing Contacts

  • Navigate to the Subscribers section.
  • Choose Import if you have a list of contacts in CSV or another supported format.
  • Follow the instructions to upload and import your contacts.

Step 3: Creating a Mailing Template

  • From the main menu, select Mailings and then Compose.
  • Here, you can create a new email. Enter the subject and body of your email. You can also utilize advanced features like personalized variables for recipient names.
  • Once done, click Save to save the template.

Step 4: Setting up and Sending the Email

  • After saving the template, go back to the Mailings menu. Select Send a Mailing.
  • Choose the template you just created and proceed to select the group of subscribers you want to send the email to.
  • Before sending, you can choose to send a test email to your own address for verification.
  • Once everything is set, click Start Mailing.

Step 5: Tracking and Analysis

  • After sending the mailings, you can check delivery, open, click-through, and unsubscribe statistics in the Mailings section.
  • Utilize this information to optimize your future campaigns.
