SSL is most commonly used to protect communication between web browsers and servers, such as for online payment gateways, corporate intranets, and transmissions of sensitive data, passwords, etc. A Certificate Authority (CA) guarantees the legitimacy of the domain owner when using their certificate, which is essential for meeting requirements of, for example, banking institutions, financial applications, and more.

From the perspective of the hosting/server owner, SSL certificates are divided into two types:

• Standard Certificate - Certificate for a single domain, e.g., www.mydomain.cz + mydomain.cz
• Wildcard Certificate - Certificate for all third-level domains, i.e., for *.mydomain.cz.

• Standard Certificate - 350 CZK excluding VAT/year
• Wildcard Certificate - 2900 CZK excluding VAT/year
