How to Import a Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate into iOS

Last night, we noticed a large number of clients experiencing security issues on iPhones and iPads. You can find a detailed article on today's issue here:

As a result, iPhone and iPad users may be unable to connect to services like email accounts.

Solution:

  1. Visit the Let’s Encrypt Certificates page.

  2. Download the ISRG Root X1 certificate in .pem format:

  3. On your device, go to "Settings" and you will find the downloaded certificate ready for installation, directly above the menu.

  4. Install the certificate and restart your device.

  5. Open the mail client settings and revert the port settings:

    • Incoming Mail (IMAP), Port: 143
    • Outgoing Mail (SMTP), Port: 587

If this procedure does not work, please contact Apple Support, or disable encryption.
