From time to time, we receive questions on our helpdesk about why we don't have more web hosting variants and what the hosting limits are.
First, it's important to note that nearly everyone on our team previously worked at another hosting company, design studio, graphic studio, or as hardware technicians. Based on our previous work experiences, we gained a clear understanding of what is profitable and what is a waste of time.
When we revamped our hosting at the beginning of 2009, we calculated that the costs of invoicing multiple variants, monitoring limits, and the technical support work needed to adjust variants were much higher than offering clients nearly unlimited hosting.
Our company offers a single hosting variant: Hosting 10 GB. 10GB of FTP space is sufficient for any website. We do not limit the size of the database, mailboxes, or data transfer. Clients who find 10GB insufficient typically hit performance limits and need a VPS server. This is not a limitation of the hosting itself but a characteristic of traditional Shared hosting.
Thanks to these parameters, we can offer a price of 25 CZK/month for hosting, as we saved on invoicing and technical support work.
Even though the hosting is nearly unlimited for clients, we still adhere to Fair Use. For instance, running an image hosting service on any hosting plan is impractical. Or having a 100GB mailbox. While it's not impossible, large-scale services require an appropriate environment.
